The Coat

I made this coat for my self this week. Although the color on it is more suitable for the Spring, it will definitely do it for me during the Autumn as well πŸ™‚

Apple Of My Eye

Or should I rathet say: apple on my mind? These few days I’ve bern surrounded by apples, in means of baking and sewing. Oh well, it is Autumn after all, isn’t it? πŸ™‚

My cousin got a son last weekend, so I made him this jumpsuit. And his big sister got a present too, of course, so I made the slippers for her. The pattern and instructions from PrudentBaby.

Post-Easter Entry

The Spring has isnpired me so I have been doing quite a lot handicfrafts, mainly sewing and crocheting. Here’s some of my doings.

munakakkutikkari

Easter Cake Pops that I did for my co-workers.

paasiaiskortti

Easter cards, that we sent to our friends and family, because we think that people should send some other cards as well, not just Christmas cards.

virkattupupu

This crocheted bunny pattern it is from a sheet decoration that some Karelian people had with them, when they were evicted from the Eastern part of Finland during the World War 2. The sheet was left behind but the pattern stays πŸ™‚

humppari

The pattern of this hoodie that I made for myself is of an old well-worn hoodie.

nappipipo

I designed the button-beenie to meet my demands: warmer on the end and not so warm on top. The buttons I got from my Grandmother. I actually got about zillion buttons from her, so I think I won’t have to buy any buttons for the rest of my life.

What have I done…

…So what did I do for Christmas presents this year πŸ™‚keksitjakissa

Sesam- and sesam-coconut-cookies to my collegues at work. The recipe is Japanese, but the coconut version my own mix πŸ™‚ The recipe makes about 50.

3/4 cup butter

1 cup brown sugar

1 egg

1 1/4 cups sifted flour

1 tsp salt

3/4 roasted sesame seeds

Mix together butter, sugar and egg. Mix in remaining ingredients. Place rounded teaspoonfulls on buttered cookie sheet. Bake 4-5 mins at 180 degrees of Celsius.

For the coconut version I mix for the half of the dough 1/4 dl coconut flakes.

Color coordination

I kintted the Tychus Beanie and the socks for the annual Christmas Child project. Really loved the Tychus pattern, it was fun and easy to make, and it looks great. Thank you Brooke! Tutorial here.

Today I did some decoration at home, when I reorganized our floating library by the color of the book covers. See also my latest little darling, the AJ alarm clock. So now we have a little piece of Arne Jacobsen at our home πŸ™‚

To celebrate my day off, I made these simple, super-easy and actually really inexpensive necklaces, one for the Autumn and one for the Spring.
